Terms of Use for the Photo Compressor Chrome extension and website
These terms cover both the Photo Compressor Chrome extension for compressing photos and pictures and the website photocompressor.pictures. By installing the extension or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not install the extension.

What you get
Photo Compressor is a free browser extension that compresses JPEG, PNG, WEBP and GIF images locally in Chrome, including compression to a target size in kilobytes, batch processing with a single ZIP download, custom output file names, a side panel and a right-click Compress Image option. You may use it for personal and commercial work at no charge. There is no subscription, no trial period and no paid tier.
Acceptable use
You agree to compress only images you own or have the right to process, and not to use the extension to infringe copyright, process unlawful material or violate anyone’s rights. You also agree not to decompile, resell or redistribute the extension as your own product, not to interfere with its operation, and not to attempt to disrupt this website or gain unauthorised access to it.
Your files stay yours
Compression happens on your own device and we never receive your images, so you keep every right in the files you process. We claim no ownership or licence over your input or output images.
Intellectual property
The extension’s code, name, icon, interface and the text and images on this website belong to their developer and are protected by copyright. Installing the extension grants you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use it as published, and nothing more. Chrome, Chrome Web Store and Google are trademarks of Google LLC; other product names mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners.
No warranty
The extension and the site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that compression will hit an exact file size for every image, that every format or website will work, that quality will match your expectations, or that the extension will be free of interruptions after a Chrome update.
Back up your originals
Compression is lossy for JPEG and WEBP and cannot be undone. Always keep a copy of your original files before compressing. We are not responsible for image quality loss or for files you overwrite or delete yourself.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost images, lost profits or business interruption arising from the use of, or inability to use, the extension or this website. Since the product is free of charge, any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the amount you paid us, which is zero.

This site links to the Chrome Web Store and to other tools and articles. We do not control those resources and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms.
Availability and changes to the product
We may update, change or discontinue the extension or the site at any time, including removing features or publishing a new version through the Chrome Web Store. Google may also remove or suspend the listing under its own policies, and we cannot guarantee permanent availability.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the product develops. The current version always lives at this address, and continued use after an update means you accept it. If a change is significant, we will describe it on this page rather than quietly editing a line.
Termination
You may stop using the extension at any time by removing it from Chrome, which also deletes its locally stored settings.
Governing terms and severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the extension and this site.
